I am so grateful for all the services available at Loughborough as I feel confident I will be able to make it to graduation now.
Hi I’m India! I’m a 21 year old first year going into second year. The reason I’m 2 years behind with my studies is due to the fact that I went to another University, 2 years ago, had a mental breakdown and had to drop out of University and go home to prevent myself from taking my own life. It was a HUGE risk coming back to a new University only a year and a bit later but I was sure within the first couple of weeks that I was going to be supported and helped at the Uni. I have depression and anxiety and am an assault survivor. The second I started to have problems with my depression and anxiety at Loughborough again I signed up for the counselling services and though I had to wait a while there were people I could talk to in the mean time. Including nightline and the support worker in my course. I had counselling for a couple of months and then was referred over to a private specialist who I still see now. Without knowing I could actually help myself to prevent my condition worsening I would’ve had to drop out again. I am so grateful for all the services available at Loughborough as I feel confident I will be able to make it to graduation now.
